The strategic goal of the partner organisations (NABS & HCIS) is to provide quality interpreting services to their clients accessing healthcare services, and to provide professional development opportunities to interpreters to maintain and develop their skills. This project enables both partner organisations, and interpreters on their books, to identify the Auslan vocabulary required for interpreter-mediated healthcare encounters , which will directly feed into the interactive website and related training for interpreters and deaf people. The outcomes of this project will provide a valuable resource for th e partner organisations to use and refer to their interpreters.
